Srinagar, Sep 15 (KNO): Peoples Conference President Sajad Gani Lone on Monday called for a discussion in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly regarding the detention of Mehraj Malik and the assault on him during the last budget session.
Speaking to reporters in Handwara, Lone, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that both the detention of Mehraj Malik and the assault he faced during the last budget session should be discussed in the House.
“I have known Mehraj Malik for the past year. He has risen from the grassroots and worked hard. He is not a 'Khoje Kout' (nepo kid) or part of any elite class. The treatment meted out to him in the Assembly was unfair. After the Assembly was adjourned, he was first assaulted by BJP legislators and then by non-MLAs following his issue with the PDP,” Lone said.
Lone also said that Farooq Abdullah’s statement, in a way, justifies PSA against him—(KNO)
